Joan Christel
Joan is Senior Vice President and Head of Corporate Citizenship & Global Inclusion for State Street. In this role, she oversees State Street’s global commitment to corporate social responsibility, inclusion and diversity, employee engagement, and culture.
Prior to joining State Street in 2017, Joan spent 13 years at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts where she led a team of management consultants delivering services across the company to increase efficiency and improve organizational performance. Previously, Joan worked for several consulting firms, including Andersen, KPMG, and BearingPoint, where she assisted clients undergoing significant organizational transformation.
Joan holds a Master of Business Administration and Master of Social Work degrees from Boston College and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. An active community volunteer, she currently chairs the Board of Advisors for Boston Ballet.
