Who We Are

The Boston Women’s Workforce Council (BWWC) leads a unique public-private partnership between the Boston Mayor and Greater Boston employers dedicated to eliminating gender and racial wage gaps.

We do so by measuring, analyzing, and reporting on these gaps, and working with over 200 employers committed to wage gap elimination and pay equity.

Creating a Fairer Workplace

A Conversation with Siri Chilazi, Co-Author of Make Work Fair

June 10, 2025 | 12 – 1 PM ET | Virtual

Compact Signers have told us that having a reputation for workplace fairness in both wage equity and advancement is one of the biggest drivers to hiring and retaining superior talent.  How do employers implement ‘fairness’ in today’s politically charged environment?

Join us on June 10 for our virtual Q2 Signer Briefing to hear Siri Chilazi, a senior researcher at the Women and Public Policy Program at Harvard Kennedy School and an internationally recognized expert in advancing women and promoting gender equity in organizations take on this subject. Her recent book, Make Work Fair, explores data-driven, actionable ways to make fairness at work a reality. The conversation, moderated by the BWWC Executive Director, Kim Borman, will cover topics such as:

  • What we can do to reframe our approach to fairness so that it works for both employees and senior management  What practices has Siri seen made a difference that might be surprising

  • How organizations can implement these strategies in their own workplaces

  • And more

The Q2 Signer Briefing is free of charge to all 100% Talent Compact Signer employees. To attend, please register at the link below.

DO THE MATH

Employer Wage Gap Calculator

The Boston Women’s Workforce Council, in partnership with the Boston Mayor’s Office of Women’s Advancement, launched the Employer Wage Gap Calculator, a completely confidential online resource that enables employers to calculate their own wage gaps within seconds of inputting their data.

Please visit the Wage Gap Calculator today and feel free to share this tool with others both within and outside of your organization. Doing the math gives us the information we need to eliminate gender and racial wage gaps.
